How to be a moral person | Michael Stueben | TEDxTJHSST
Published at : 18 Dec 2020
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. What does it mean to be a moral person? Can we be moral in a world that is beginning to favor ends over means?
Mr. Michael Stueben has been a math/computer science teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology for more than twenty years. At one time he was a puzzle writer for Discover magazine. He taught a morals and ethics course at TJ three years ago, and has long been interested in philosophy, religion, and morality. When asked "What is the meaning of life?", he responds "What meaning do you bring to life?"
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
