Patients recovering from COVID-19 in public hospitals and who require only limited medical care, may be transferred to private medical facilities or converted Government Quarantine Facilities to see out their recoveries. This will allow public hospitals to devote their critical resources to the seriously ill and minimise the number of fatalities, said Minister for Health Gan Kim Yong in a Ministerial Statement in Parliament on 25 March 2020. He added that Singaporeans and long-term pass holders who are transferred to these facilities will continue to receive free-of-charge testing and treatment, except those who have travelled overseas despite the travel advisory.
